Let’s look at what you, the homeowner, need to know about your upcoming kitchen remodel.
Starting Off On the Right Foot: What Do You Need to Know Before the Kitchen Remodel?
Budget
How much does a kitchen remodel touch? Price is going to vary depending on how much of a transformation you’re looking for. Do you want a light kitchen refresh? That will cost less than a full gut-out remodel for sure. Consider your budget and how much you would like to invest into your kitchen.
For ALL Renovation & Design, we aim to work with your budget, and in doing so we also consider the quality level of products that we’re bringing into your kitchen. Don’t be afraid to invest in higher-quality fixtures, countertops, and appliances. Those will last longer than products you invest in for half the price, and in the long run it could save you money!
If you want a typical kitchen remodel, it could cost up to $30,000-65,000. A higher-end kitchen project could range from $50,000-120,000 (or more). Prices can still vary from there, but to give you a generous estimate keep those prices in mind.

Kitchen Style & Design
Your kitchen should be unique to you. And although you don’t need to know exactly how you want your kitchen to look (but if you do, that’s great), it is good to consider what your personal needs are.
Here are some questions to consider when you begin planning out your kitchen remodel:
- How much space do I want in my kitchen?
- Do I need more countertop space or have an island in the kitchen?
- Do I have all the appliances (fridge space, oven space, etc.) I want or should I consider more?
- Is there a station for my morning cup of coffee?
- Do I want a dishwasher or just a sink?
- How is my lighting?
- Do I have enough cabinet space?
- Is this kitchen functional enough that I can have my whole family in it?
- What colors appeal to me for the paint color, appliances, fixtures, etc.?
- Do I want extra storage and organizational space for spices, ingredients, and Tupperware?
- What do you NOT like about your current kitchen?
Inspiration
Sometimes the most difficult part of the design process is getting inspired. There are many websites, magazines, and shows you can watch to figure out what styles you enjoy most. One of our top recommendations is using Pinterest. You can also view our past projects for inspiration and kitchen designs of all sizes!

Timeframe
One important key of a kitchen remodel is timeframe. Depending on our availability, the design process, and the amount of time remodeling can change how long it takes. The average kitchen takes between 3-6 months lead time, which includes the initial conversation, preliminary assessment or solution, the design process and selection, and then construction.
Construction can take, on average, 8 weeks. At this point it’s important to note that you won’t be able to use your kitchen during this timeframe and other plans will need to be made when needing to prep food and eat.
As for the time of year to start your kitchen remodel, it’s a project that can happen at any point of the year. Consider things like kids going to school, your personal availability and work schedule. It’s an interior project, so this can take place regardless of weather and temperatures.
